I was born in Mexico. Was 2 when my parents moved us to Riverside, California. LIVING IN CALIFORNIA was not the ideal place to raise a family. IN 1995 WE MOVED TO WASHINGTON IOWA. WE WERE ONE OF THE FIRST Mexican families in town. The only word I knew in English when we moved to Iowa, was "apple," that was not helpful starting in a new school with a new language and no friends. I watched my parents struggle raising 7 children and wanted a family of my own one day but did not want to have to work in a factory like they did. I WORKED VERY HARD TO LEARN ENGLISH. I BECAME FLUENT AND IN 2004 began working at the Washington, Iowa Hy-vee grill. Because of my bilingual skill I was offered a position in the pharmacy. At first I did not want to take it because I knew nothing about pharmacy but thought about it and knew it was an opportunity for me to make it a Career. In 2006 I was the first nationally certified pharmacy technician at Hy-vee pharmacy. I had my first daughter Yvett later that year. In 2010 I married Ramiro Castillo and moved to Fruitland WE WELCOMED A SON Thiago into our family December that same year. I TRANSFERRED MY PHARMACY POSITION TO THE PHARMACY IN MUSCATINE. I HAD al ways liked working with the public and using my bilingual skills was something I found very rewarding. IN 2023 I BECAME a licensed realtor and began working with the RERA team. I look forward to helping facilitate the journey of anyone looking to purchase a home and offer my services as a realtor in English or Spanish.
